I have been asked where I learned how to do the things I do. Most of what I do now is a combination of things I love, what I think other people might love, what is on trend and a bit of magical thinking. When I was a freshman in high school I took a intro to jewelry class. I learned to solder, cast a mold, use a jewelers saw and all sorts of other fun things but it didn't really feel like my jam back then. I shifted gears, and took drawing and painting then my sophomore year and it was a game changer I loved it. I continued with drawing and painting the remainder of high school and took photography as well. I love how my life has taken me full circle to where I am today. Who says you never use the things you learned in high school? 💫 .

When we came up with our business Melissa and I decided the best way to name our business was to combine both of our names. Quartz is such an interesting crystal. Not only is it considered a master healer but did you also know that large amounts of quartz sand are used in foundry molds in metal casting? My dad worked most of his adult life in a foundry so this was a super interesting fun fact I wanted to share since there is so much more to this mineral that meets the eye. 🕵🏻 .

You know that saying "dance like no one it watching?" To me it says enjoy the small things in life. One of the small things in my life that I really enjoy is cutting fibers. I just made a batch of these earrings to head off the @andersruffworkshop in Michigan for a wholesale order and lining up the earrings to cut them the same length is one of my favorite things . I think it's the process of hearing the sound of scissors and then the end result. Maybe I should have been a hairdresser?! 🙆🏽😜😁
